The last more than ten years of excavations at Iharkút explored high number of fossils. This high number maks possible the shape analysis with classical morphometric methods based on statistical analysis. These methods are very useful because provide an objective tool for the researchers for example in species separation or in determining the seeds position within the fruit moreover in special cases it could help is the description of ontogeny.
Morphometric analysis is allays based on several measurable characters (Figure 1).
Emese Réka Bodor had used the classical morphometrics at more fields of palaeontology. Even the elaboration of the statistical algorithm used on the paleontological data is in progress however the preliminary results show that the balanced use of the uni- and multivariate statistical methods is an innovative process.
